Paleo Bike Rack

I am the project manager for Michael Bahl's Paleo-Osteological Bike Rack, an upcoming public art installation in St. Paul, MN. The bike rack will take the form of a bronze skeleton of a large imaginary mammal in repose. Cyclists will park their bikes between the ribs of the creature. The manufacturing process for the skeleton involves an interesting mix of analog and digital technologies including papier mache, 3D printing, and traditional bronze casting. The project has been awarded a matching funds grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Learn more and donate at givemn.org.
